Friedl Kolar - Alley Oop
This shot has always been very special to me, and I was particularly stoked that my long-exposure idea turned this alley-oop into a true piece of art. You have to always remember that these images were shot on analog film— therefor I never saw the results until days or even weeks later.
The light streaks drawing those lines are the light poles from the halfpipe in Fieberbrunn, where the night finals took place in 1998.
I had been searching for this shot while approaching the deadline for my book — BARELY MADE IT — but couldn’t find it anywhere. Now, it’s available as a limited fine art print.
