Michi Albin’s career really took off after his closing part in the movie Subject Haakonsen was released in 1996—a legendary film about Terje Haakonsen and friends, produced by Dave Seone.
In 2001, Dave began working on the sequel, Factor Haakonsen, and Michi was invited to be part of it once again.
Somehow, I managed to tag along, even though I was filming for our own project, Transcendence. Dave let us all stay at his house, and we would share sessions and footage afterward—of course all shot on 16mm.
One night, Dave organized a night shoot in Squaw Valley, and unfortunately, these were the conditions we ended up with.
But sometimes it’s exactly those kinds of conditions that bring out the most unique shots.
