During the Pleasure Spring Session in LAAX at the end of April 2001, the resort was hit with what was probably the biggest snowfall of the entire season. Over the course of just one or two days, nearly two meters of fresh snow dropped onto an already massive base from an exceptional winter.
Suddenly, rock formations I had never seen before—or since—were completely transformed, turning the area into an entirely new playground. We called this spot, which is clearly visible when riding down from Crap to Curnius, monkey hill. That day, a young Nicolas Müller and Gigi Rüf turned it into something legendary.
